A bridge too far

In Mennessis, a metal bridge spans the canal. It is under repair. Three workmen are having a chat, they don’t seem to be occupied.. I am not allowed to pass. When I probe them why, I realize they consider opening and closing the fences that bock the road as too cumbersome.

I explain that I knowhow to open and close Heras fences by myself and all at once, I am free to go.. as long as I don’t bother them....
